Angsana Ihuru Maldives is a 20-minute speedboat trip (or eight miles) from the capital town Male and a 30-minute speedboat trip from Male International Airport. Angsana Resort & Spa is a cluster of 45 beachfront villas with that are within walking distance of the beach and ocean. The resort's amenities include the full-service spa (with eight treatment rooms, an outdoor Jacuzzi, and a steam bath), Angsana Gallery (a boutique with indigenous artifacts and handicrafts), Velaavani Bar, and Riveli (restaurant with Asian, Mediterranean, and Maldivian cuisine). The off-shore natural reef makes for great snorkeling and scuba diving. Angsana can arrange a wide range of watersports. The hotel also offers in-villa dining, private dining (on the beach, at a sheltered sandbank nearby, or in a glass-bottom boat), cooking school, beach volleyball, a library, and guided excursions (island hopping, Male shopping, night fishing, etc). All villas feature private verandahs (with dining and sitting areas), open-air bathrooms, outdoor showers (with hot and cold fresh water), private gardens (with sun loungers and Maldivian swings), queen-sized beds, minibars, coffee/tea facilities, safes, IDD telephones, hairdryers, bathrobes, and air-conditioning. PLEASE NOTE Upon arrival at the airport, after immigration, guests should proceed to counter 8 where the resort host will direct guests for the speed boat transfers to the resort. A charge of USD90 plus tax per person applies for return transfers to the resort. This is paid to the resort upon check out.
